The Congress on Friday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to hold a meeting only with NDA chief ministers regarding Operation Sindoor, accusing the BJP of politicizing India's military action against Pakistan. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh questioned the selective outreach, stating, “Why are only NDA CMs being briefed while MPs from all parties are being sent abroad to explain India's stance?”

Ramesh alleged that while the BJP seeks unity abroad, it continues to defame opposition parties at home. He also reiterated Congress' demand for a special Parliament session to affirm national resolve, referencing the 1994 resolution on Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Despite its objections, Congress confirmed its participation in the diplomatic delegations, which include Shashi Tharoor and other opposition MPs. The MEA will brief delegates next week before the 10 day international campaign begins.
