In the wake of heightened Indo-Pak tensions, IndiGo and Air India have cancelled all flights to and from several border cities, including Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Amritsar, and Chandigarh. The move comes after these airports, recently reopened for civilian operations, were temporarily shut again due to security concerns. Air India and IndiGo both cited “latest developments” and “passenger safety” as reasons for the cancellations.
Airports affected include strategic locations such as Rajkot, Bhuj, Jamnagar, and Jodhpur many of which are near sensitive military zones. These cities had just resumed operations following a closure caused by cross border hostilities triggered after the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
India's Operation Sindoor targeted terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK, destroying nine camps and neutralizing over 100 terrorists. The retaliation escalated military activities before both countries agreed to a ceasefire on May 10. Airlines are actively monitoring the situation and may revise flight schedules soon.
