Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has ordered employees to submit weekly reports in bullet points, a move strikingly similar to Elon Musk's recent directive to US federal workers. In an internal message, Aggarwal introduced "Kya chal raha hai?"- a system where every employee must send a short report with 3 to 5 bullet points on their weekly progress. These updates must be emailed directly to Aggarwal and their reporting manager.
He made it clear- no exceptions. Employees must use simple, clear language and submit their reports before Sunday ends every week. The rule was effective immediately, with the first updates due that very day.
This decision comes shortly after Elon Musk, as head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), ordered federal employees to do the same- sending five bullet points each week or risk losing their jobs.
Aggarwal’s move triggered an uproar on social media. Users mocked him for copying Western ideas instead of creating something original. Some claimed leaders like him build their careers by imitating trends rather than innovating. Others called it "cringe-worthy" and said Indian businesses often repeat foreign concepts instead of setting new benchmarks.
Once again, Ola finds itself accused of following rather than leading.
