In a tragic incident, a 21-year-old man named Ramachandra died after allegedly blowing himself up with a gelatin stick outside his girlfriend’s house in Kalenahalli village, Karnataka, following the rejection of his marriage proposal by her family. The incident occurred on Sunday morning.

Ramachandra, a native of Mandya city, had been in a relationship with the minor girl, which had led to legal trouble for him last year. He was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act after eloping with the girl, leading to his arrest and a three-month jail sentence as an under-trial. After his release, Ramachandra reconciled with the girl’s family, and the case was dismissed. Despite this, they continued their relationship secretly.

The girl’s family had plans to marry her off to another person once she reached the legal age, which reportedly angered Ramachandra. In response to the rejection, he appeared in front of her house and detonated a gelatin stick, causing a fatal explosion.

Police have registered a case based on the complaint from the deceased’s family, which raised concerns about the circumstances of his death. Investigations revealed that Ramachandra’s family was involved in the quarrying business, which may have given him access to the gelatin stick.
