The countdown to 2025 is here, and while India gears up for a night of grand celebrations, the Delhi Police is ready with their own "party plans", just not the kind you'd want an invite to.
With heightened security across the national capital, the Delhi Police dropped a hilarious yet stern message on X, warning any mischief-makers of an exclusive "cell block party." The venue? Your friendly neighborhood police station. And don’t worry about transportation, they’re offering "free rides" to the event, complete with overnight accommodation in their "VIP Lounge." Features include a "comfy sitting area, cold cell bars, and some hot beats", just not the musical kind.
For those preferring to stick to the rules, the police urged citizens to report troublemakers by dialing 112 and promised to let the "good times roll" for everyone else.
In a serious show of readiness, around 20,000 security personnel, including paramilitary forces, have been deployed across Delhi-NCR to ensure a smooth celebration.
As hotspots like Connaught Place, Khan Market, and various luxury hotels gear up for large crowds, traffic diversions will come into play from 7:00 PM to keep chaos at bay. Notable party zones affected include ITC Maurya, The Lalit, Taj Palace, and India Gate.
So, whether you're counting down to midnight with champagne in hand or cruising around Connaught Place, remember—party responsibly, or you might just find yourself at the city's most secure "VIP Lounge" to kick off the New Year!
