De-Escalation vs. Retaliation: A raging debate in an infuriated India

In April 2025, four Pakistan terrorists committed a heinous crime in the beautiful yet terror-stricken valley of Kashmir. 26 innocent Tourists were brutally murdered in the Pahalgam district of Jammu & Kashmir, resulting in a nation-wide agitation against Pakistan's terrorism.

After weeks of shutting down their rogue neighbours on the social warfare front, the Indian government finally launched "Operation Sindoor", a well-planned mass scale annihilation of nine terrorist camps in Pakistan, which led to the demolition of hundreds of perpetrators of terror in the Crescent Moon nation.

However, Pakistan has replied back by opening fire on the civilised colonies of Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Punjab. At the moment, there is a raging debate in the nation whether the country should look to de-escalate the situation and look for a peace treaty or if they should continue their retaliation against the undeniable protectors of terrorist groups. While both sides have got valid points to back their ideologies, de-escalation seems like a forogone conclusion at the moment.

Pakistan's crumbling economy, low social morale, and lack of administrative stability make them prone to making disastrous decisions, that may result in their mass destruction. India, meanwhile, does not seem to be heading towards scoring a peace treaty with a rogue nation, whose terrorists are adamant about encouraging a religion-centric war.

Unfortunately, casualties of innocent civilians and brave soldiers becomes a harsh reality that we must accept in case India enters a full-fledged war with Pakistan.

While de-escalation vs. retailiation continues to be a massive topic of discussion, it must not influence the decision making of our armed forces, whose decision must reign supreme.

We, as a nation, must stand united with our army, and fully respect whatever decision the end up making to protect the sovereignty of our nation.
