Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, leading Indian travel agencies have halted all tour packages to Turkey and Azerbaijan. This decision comes after both countries publicly supported Pakistan following India's Operation Sindoor, a military response to a deadly attack in Kashmir.
Prominent travel companies, including EaseMyTrip, Cox & Kings, and Travomint, announced the suspension of bookings to these destinations. Karan Agarwal, Director of Cox & Kings, stated, "In light of recent developments, we have decided to pause all new travel offerings to Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey. This decision is driven by our commitment to uphold principles that matter deeply to us and the people of our country.
EaseMyTrip's founder, Nishant Pitti, emphasized traveler safety, advising customers to exercise caution and stay updated on official travel advisories. Similarly, Travomint's CEO, Alok K Singh, confirmed the company's stance, stating, Due to the escalating tensions with Pakistan and countries like Turkey and Azerbaijan supporting it, we at Travomint have taken a firm and responsible stand.
The travel industry's response reflects a broader trend of businesses aligning with national sentiment during geopolitical conflicts. The suspension of travel packages to Turkey and Azerbaijan underscores the tangible impact of international relations on commerce and consumer choices.
As the situation evolves, travelers are advised to stay informed and exercise discretion when planning trips to regions involved in geopolitical disputes.
