Amid spiraling India-Pakistan tensions and drone attacks, 32 Indian airports have shut down. But Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) isn't one of them.
The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) confirmed that flight operations are still running-though delays are expected. A security advisory warns of longer processing times due to heightened checks.
DIAL urged passengers to reach early and stay patient, as evolving airspace conditions may disrupt schedules. With growing uncertainty, cooperation with airline and security staff is key.
A viral video claiming Pakistan's Fateh-2 missile struck Delhi airport sent shockwaves online. The Indian government's fact-check team quickly debunked it-no missile hit IGI.
To ramp up counter-terrorism measures, CISF will now monitor cargo and in-line baggage screening at 69 airports. BCAS has officially expanded their role until further notice.
Even though IGI is operational, ripple effects from the conflict led to over 130 flight cancellations on Friday alone. Flyers are advised to double-check live flight status online.
