External affairs minister S Jaishankar, while addressing a joint press briefing in Berlin with German counterpart Johann Wadephul, firmly stated that India has zero tolerance for terrorism and will never yield to nuclear blackmail. The comments come after the recent Operation Sindoor, India’s massive military retaliation following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives.
“India will deal with Pakistan bilaterally and decisively,” Jaishankar declared, emphasizing that terrorism will be countered at its roots, no matter the location. Germany voiced full support, stating terrorism must not be tolerated anywhere in the world.
Jaishankar also met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, expressing appreciation for Germany’s solidarity and discussed strengthening strategic ties.
Operation Sindoor involved airstrikes on nine terror camps, resulting in over 100 terrorist casualties and strikes on 13 Pakistani military bases before a ceasefire was negotiated on May 10.
