Ahead of India's big game against New Zealand, KL Rahul opened up about the much-talked-about competition with Rishabh Pant. He admitted that the team management has a tough call to make since both bring unique strengths. While Pant is known for his explosive batting, Rahul believes in playing his own way instead of trying to match Pant's aggression.
"There's always a temptation to play him or me, but I don't try to compete with Rishabh or copy his style. He has his own approach, and I have mine," Rahul explained.
Pant's fearless stroke play can turn games around in minutes, while Rahul offers a more stable, composed presence at the crease. This contrast makes team selection a strategic decision rather than a personal rivalry. Some matches need a power-hitter, while others require a calculated anchor - both roles are valuable.
With both players bringing something different to the table, India has the luxury of depth and adaptability. Whether it's Pant's fireworks or Rahul's consistency, the team always has the right tool for the job.
