Katy Perry is preparing for a truly out-of-this-world experience. This spring, the pop icon will join Blue Origin's NS-31 mission, making history as part of the company's first all-female spaceflight.
Founded by Jeff Bezos, Blue Origin will send six women past the Kármán line, the internationally recognized boundary of space, allowing them to experience weightlessness for a few minutes before returning to Earth.
As the commercial space race intensifies, Blue Origin is making headlines with its 11th crewed flight, which highlights diversity and inclusion in space travel. Spearheaded by Lauren Sánchez, journalist and longtime partner of Jeff Bezos, the mission aims to inspire future generations.
Joining Perry on this exclusive flight are:
1. Aisha Bowe – Former NASA aerospace engineer turned entrepreneur.
2. Amanda Nguyen – Civil rights activist and advocate for sexual assault survivors.
3. Gayle King – Award-winning journalist and TV host.
4. Kerianne Flynn – Filmmaker focused on socially impactful storytelling.
5. Lauren Sánchez – Journalist, licensed pilot, and mission leader.
While Blue Origin envisions a future where space travel is more accessible, the reality is that tickets remain an ultra-exclusive privilege, with costs rumored to be in the millions. However, advancements in commercial spaceflight suggest that affordable trips to space may be closer than we think.
For now, Katy Perry and her fellow crew members are preparing for a historic mission that merges cutting-edge technology, celebrity influence, and a bold step toward the future of space exploration.
