Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first-ever Vande Bharat train to Kashmir from Katra on April 19, marking the completion of the 272 km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail project. The long-awaited rail link will connect Kashmir directly to the rest of India, boosting trade, tourism, and connectivity.

Modi will also inaugurate the world's highest railway bridge, the Chenab Bridge, standing 35 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower. Spanning 1,315 meters with a 467-meter arch, it symbolizes India's engineering marvels.

With 38 tunnels and 927 bridges, including India's longest transportation tunnel (12.75 km T-49), the project overcomes significant geological challenges. The new Vande Bharat train will drastically reduce travel time between Jammu and Srinagar, making rail travel in the region faster and more efficient than ever.
