A tragic turn of events marked Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) IPL victory celebrations in Bengaluru on June 4, 2025. What began as a joyous open-bus parade and felicitation ceremony outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium turned into a deadly stampede, claiming 11 lives and injuring 33 others.
In response, RCB has announced ₹10 lakh in financial aid for each of the deceased victims' families. Additionally, the franchise is launching a special initiative named ‘RCB Cares’, aimed at supporting the injured and affected fans.
RCB’s statement read, “This incident has deeply saddened the RCB family. As a mark of respect and solidarity, we offer financial help and are committed to assisting the injured through ‘RCB Cares’.”
While fans gathered in massive numbers to celebrate their team’s historic IPL win, the lack of crowd control led to chaos, underscoring the need for better event planning and public safety.
