Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured in an attempted robbery at his Bandra West home in Mumbai. The incident took place around 2:30 am on Thursday when an intruder broke into the residence shared by Saif, his wife Kareena Kapoor, and their children, Taimur and Jeh. According to the police, the intruder fled after being discovered by the household.
Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital at 3:30 am, where doctors identified six injuries, two of which were critical. One deep wound was near his spine, while another was on his neck. A surgical team, including neurosurgeon Nitin Dange and cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain, began operating on him at 5:30 am. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of the hospital, confirmed that a piece of the knife was recovered during the procedure. Fortunately, Saif is reportedly able to move his limbs, suggesting no severe spinal damage.
Police are investigating whether Saif was stabbed or injured during a scuffle with the intruder. A senior officer confirmed the Mumbai Crime Branch is conducting a parallel probe.
Known for films like Dil Chahta Hai and Omkara, Saif comes from the illustrious Pataudi family. His wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, and their children remain by his side at the hospital as fans await updates on his recovery.
