In a strong response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed all state chief ministers to identify Pakistani nationals residing in their states and report them to the Centre. Shah emphasized immediate cancellation of their visas and swift repatriation. This comes as the Ministry of External Affairs announced the revocation of all valid Indian visas issued to Pakistani nationals, effective April 27.
Under the directive, those on medical visas must leave India by April 29, and those in India via the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme must exit within 48 hours. The move has triggered widespread concern among Pakistani nationals, especially those on short-term or emergency travel.
Meanwhile, Amit Shah is also set to chair a critical meeting on the Indus Waters Treaty, signaling further tightening of diplomatic ties with Pakistan in the wake of the deadly terror strike.
