In a disturbing revelation, Uttar Pradesh Police have launched an investigation into the unauthorized recording and sale of objectionable videos of women pilgrims bathing at the Maha Kumbh. The incident has sparked outrage, with authorities vowing strict action against those responsible.
Under the directives of Uttar Pradesh police chief Prashant Kumar, cases have been registered against two social media accounts engaged in the illicit activity. On February 17, an Instagram account was flagged for sharing inappropriate footage, prompting police to seek Meta’s assistance in identifying the culprit. Just days later, a Telegram channel was caught selling similar content, intensifying concerns over digital privacy breaches.
The social media monitoring team uncovered these violations, which blatantly disregarded the privacy and dignity of pilgrims. Investigations are underway, and legal action, including arrests, is imminent. The police have reiterated their commitment to combating the misuse of social media, ensuring such incidents are met with swift justice.
As authorities close in on those responsible, the scandal raises urgent questions about online safety, privacy violations, and the dark side of digital exploitation. The case is unfolding—will justice prevail?
