Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog in New Delhi, urging states to align with the goal of a "Viksit Bharat by 2047."
The meeting, themed ‘Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat @2047’, brought together state chief ministers, Union ministers, and lieutenant governors. PM Modi emphasized urban development, innovation, sustainability, and the creation of future-ready cities. He urged each state to develop at least one world-class tourist destination to boost local economies and city infrastructure.
Stressing inclusivity, he highlighted the need to frame policies that empower women and improve grassroots governance.
Modi said real change is achieved when citizens feel its impact, turning it into a people-driven movement.
The meeting marked the PM’s first major interaction with state leaders after Operation Sindoor. The government aims for states to craft visionary, time-bound development plans tailored to local realities while aligning with national priorities.
