Getting a job at fintech giant CRED isn't just about skills, it's also about financial responsibility! Founder Kunal Shah has set a hiring rule: candidates must have a credit score of at least 750.
Why This Rule?
At a February 25 event, Shah explained that if employees build products promoting financial responsibility, they should practice it too. While the ideal threshold would be 800, younger candidates often lack sufficient credit history.
No Score? No Problem (Kind Of)
Applicants have three months to improve their score, with CRED offering guidance. Many discover errors in their credit reports, which, when corrected, boost their score.
Akshay Aedula, now CRED's Product Head, almost lost his job opportunity due to a low credit score six years ago. He highlights that 79% of Indians suffer setbacks due to poor credit awareness.
As part of its Svalbard release, CRED now allows users to pledge mutual fund investments for digital credit lines at interest rates starting at 8.99%.
Dreaming of working at CRED? Start monitoring your credit score, your next big job might depend on it!
