The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most exciting cricket tournaments in the world. Along with big matches and star players, two special awards are given during the season - the Orange Cap and the Purple Cap.
Orange Cap
The Orange Cap is given to the player who scores the most runs in the tournament. It shows that the batter is performing very well and helping their team by making high scores.
Famous cricketers like Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, and David Warner have won the Orange Cap in past seasons. It is a big achievement for any batter.
Purple Cap
The Purple Cap is given to the bowler who takes the most wickets in the season. This cap goes to the player who is best at stopping the other team by taking important wickets.
Bowlers like Lasith Malinga, Kagiso Rabada, and Yuzvendra Chahal have won this cap before.
These caps change during the season based on player performance. The top run-scorer or top wicket-taker wears the cap until someone else takes the lead.
