The Union Budget 2025 is just around the corner, and many stock market enthusiasts are wondering whether the Indian stock market will be open on February 1, 2025; especially since it falls on a Saturday this year.
Good news! Both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain open on this special day. Trading will start at 9:15 AM and continue until 3:30 PM, just like any regular weekday session.
What About the Commodity Market?
For commodity traders, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also be operational. A special trading session has been arranged, and the exchange will stay open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to help market participants manage risk and hedge their investments in real time.
Why Is This a Big Deal?
Typically, Indian stock markets are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, but special sessions are arranged for major events, like the Union Budget, which has a significant impact on the economy and stock markets.
What to Expect from Budget 2025?
With signs of economic slowdown, investors are eager to see what Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will bring to the table. The focus is expected to be on infrastructure, manufacturing, and construction, helping India move toward the vision of "Viksit Bharat" in Amrit Kaal.
Big announcements on capital expenditure and fiscal policies could shape the market's direction, so all eyes are on the Budget speech!
