Comedian and Emmy Award-winner Vir Das slammed Air India after a nightmarish flight experience left his wife, who has a fractured foot, without the wheelchair assistance he pre-booked. Das recounted the ordeal on social media, revealing how the cabin crew and ground staff were clueless when the couple deboarded a delayed flight from Mumbai to Delhi via stepladder. Despite booking premium Pranaam services and ₹50,000 seats each, Das encountered broken leg rests, faulty recliners, and zero support. His wife was forced to descend the aircraft stairs with her injured foot while staff offered little more than confused stares.
Even upon reaching the terminal, the pre-booked wheelchair service failed to materialize. Das eventually found an unattended wheelchair and wheeled his wife out himself. The incident has triggered widespread outrage online, calling into question Air India's customer service, especially for passengers with special needs. Air India has yet to issue an official response.
