In a heartfelt tribute to education and knowledge, the Ainavilli Vinayaka Temple in Andhra Pradesh hosted a three-day-long festival dedicated to young children's learning. During these sacred celebrations, kids, accompanied by their parents, offered prayers to Goddess Saraswati and wrote on slates for the first time, seeking her blessings for wisdom and academic success.
One of the highlights of this year's Basant Panchami festivities, observed on February 3, was a special offering of one lakh pens to Lord Ganesha. A viral video from the event shows temple priests placing the pens at the deity's feet in a symbolic gesture before they were later distributed to children. This unique tradition is an annual event at the temple, emphasizing the importance of learning and education.
Basant Panchami, a festival dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, is widely celebrated across India, marking the arrival of spring and the pursuit of knowledge. This year, it was also commemorated at the Maha Kumbh Mela with a grand 'Shahi Snan' ritual.
The Ainavilli Sri Vigneswara Swamy Temple, situated in the scenic Konaseema region of East Godavari, has a deep-rooted spiritual history. According to the Sthala Purana, Sage Vyasa installed the idol of Lord Ganesha here before embarking on his journey to South India.
The temple continues to be a revered site, especially during its grand "Festival of Learning" on Magha Shuddha Panchami, reinforcing its legacy as a center of wisdom and devotion.
