AAP Accuses Congress of Aligning with BJP in Delhi Polls, Calls for Expulsion from INDIA Bloc

The INDIA bloc faces internal discord in Delhi as tensions escalate between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). While the two parties had earlier decided against forming an alliance for the Delhi elections, they maintained a relatively cordial relationship during the Haryana elections. However, ahead of the Delhi polls, the situation has worsened, with both parties openly opposing each other.

The Congress and AAP are now battling as fiercely as Congress contests against the BJP in other states. AAP leaders allege that Congress’s continuous attacks on their party suggest a tacit understanding with the BJP. AAP MP Sanjay Singh criticized Congress leader Ajay Maken for calling Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal "anti-national," urging Congress to take action. Singh warned that if Congress fails to discipline its leaders, AAP will seek their removal from the INDIA bloc.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi accused the BJP of secretly funding Congress candidates like Sandeep Dixit and Farhad Suri, alleging they received crores from the BJP. She questioned the Congress’s motives, pointing out their previous alliance with AAP during Lok Sabha elections, where Kejriwal campaigned for them. Atishi further alleged that Congress aims to weaken AAP to benefit the BJP in Delhi elections, demanding immediate action against Maken and Youth Congress members who filed FIRs against her and Kejriwal.

Singh also highlighted AAP’s restraint during Haryana elections, noting they refrained from criticizing Congress despite contesting independently. He claimed Congress leaders’ actions in Delhi seem aligned with the BJP’s interests, accusing them of following a "BJP script." The growing rift has placed the INDIA bloc under significant strain, threatening its unity ahead of crucial elections.
