Telugu actor Allu Arjun was arrested in connection with a deadly stampede outside a Hyderabad theatre following an unexpected appearance for his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. The incident, which took place last week, resulted in the tragic death of a woman and left her nine-year-old son injured.

The chaos began when Allu Arjun and the film's music director, Devi Sr Prasad, arrived at the Sandhya Theatre unannounced. As news of their surprise visit spread, hundreds of fans rushed to catch a glimpse of the stars. The massive crowd jostled and pushed, causing a stampede. During the chaos, 35-year-old Revathi was killed, while her son was critically injured.

Hyderabad Police filed charges against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management for culpable homicide and causing harm. Police Commissioner CV Anand noted that neither the theatre management nor Arjun’s team had informed the authorities about the visit, and there were no proper arrangements for crowd control. The security team’s efforts to push back the crowd worsened the situation, escalating the panic.

After the incident, Allu Arjun expressed deep sorrow on social media, offering his condolences to the grieving family. He also announced a ₹25 lakh financial aid for the woman’s family and promised to cover the medical expenses for her son. Arjun vowed to meet the family personally, assuring them they weren’t alone in their pain.
