In a rare and unexpected glitch, Netflix experienced a global outage affecting nearly 300 million users across the world.
The popular OTT platform, known for its seamless streaming services, went down for several hours, leaving users locked out of their accounts. According to reports, the outage began around 2 PM US time and quickly escalated to a worldwide disruption.
Users reported sudden logouts, login errors, and a bizarre issue where their profiles got mixed up with others. Some even saw unfamiliar names and watch histories on their accounts. The outage was confirmed by Downdetector, a platform that tracks real-time service disruptions.
Although Netflix has yet to release an official statement explaining the cause, this incident has raised serious concerns about user data privacy and system reliability. With millions relying on Netflix for daily entertainment, such disruptions can severely impact user trust and platform credibility.
