Snoop Dogg Faces Backlash Over Performance at Trump's Crypto Ball

Rapper Snoop Dogg has found himself at the center of controversy after performing at Donald Trump's inaugural Crypto Ball, sparking massive backlash from fans. The fallout was swift, with Snoop losing over 571,800 followers on Instagram and 17,177 on X in just days.

The criticism stems from accusations of hypocrisy, as Snoop has been vocal in his past criticism of Trump. Disappointed fans flooded social media, with one saying, "Love Snoop Dogg, but performing for Trump? That's crossing the line."

Snoop responded to the outrage during an Instagram Live, saying, "Y'all can't hate enough on me. I love too much… Still a Black man, still 100 percent Black." He pointed to Trump's charity for Michael "Harry O" Harris, co-founder of Death Row Records, as a factor in his decision, adding that it's important to separate professional work from political affiliations.

This isn't the first time entertainers have faced backlash for associating with Trump. Kim Kardashian recently lost nearly 150,000 followers after posting a photo with Melania Trump, and even Carrie Underwood faced criticism for participating in similar events.

While Snoop Dogg remains one of the most iconic figures in music, the incident has reignited debates about whether artists' political choices should affect their careers, and how much influence fans really have in shaping these decisions.

What do you think? Should artists stick to their craft, or does politics come with the territory? Let us know!
