The trailer of Nikita Roy, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Paresh Rawal, and Arjun Rampal, promises a supernatural thriller  -  but ends up feeling more like a psychological puzzle. The film begins with the classic horror trope, “Do you believe in ghosts?” and follows Sonakshi’s character as she encounters eerie phenomena while challenging a spiritual leader, played by Rawal.

While the performances seem solid, the screenplay and dialogues appear underwhelming. The suspense is there, but the trailer doesn’t deliver the chill one expects from a horror flick.

With Kajol’s Maa - a spiritual sequel to Shaitaan - releasing on the same day (June 27, 2025), Nikita Roy faces tough competition. Maa’s trailer has already built stronger anticipation with its gripping narrative.

Though the trailer raises curiosity, only time will tell if Nikita Roy surprises viewers or fades in comparison. For now, the safer bet looks like Kajol’s Maa.
