MS Dhoni has finally addressed retirement rumors ahead of Chennai Super Kings’ IPL 2025 opener against Mumbai Indians. His T-shirt reading “One Last Time” in Morse code fueled speculation, but Dhoni clarified that neither he nor CSK are ready to part ways. He even joked that if he were in a wheelchair, CSK would still convince him to play another season.
The 43-year-old, who battled a knee injury last season and underwent surgery, has now fully recovered. In IPL 2023, he stepped down from captaincy and batted lower down the order, smashing 161 runs at an explosive 220 strike rate.
As CSK begins their title defense, Dhoni is just 19 runs away from surpassing Suresh Raina as the franchise's all-time top run-scorer.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja is on the verge of becoming CSK’s leading wicket-taker, needing just eight more dismissals to overtake Dwayne Bravo. With milestones ahead, Dhoni’s IPL 2025 journey promises to be unforgettable.
