Taiwan has reported a record-breaking incursion of 45 Chinese military aircraft into its air defense identification zone (ADIZ), heightening tensions in the region. This marks one of the largest aerial incursions by China, a move seen as a show of force amid ongoing political and military frictions.
According to Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense, the warplanes included fighter jets, bombers, and surveillance aircraft. Twenty-six of them crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, an unofficial boundary that China has increasingly ignored in recent months. Taiwan's air force scrambled jets, deployed air defense missile systems, and monitored the activity closely.
Beijing has not officially commented on the latest maneuver, but experts believe it aligns with China's ongoing military pressure campaign against Taiwan. The move comes amid heightened global scrutiny, especially from the U.S., which has pledged support for Taiwan's defense. Analysts warn that such aggressive tactics could lead to unintended military escalation.
As Taiwan continues to bolster its defense capabilities and seek international backing, the world watches closely. Could these provocations signal a larger conflict on the horizon?
