Pakistan's fast bowler Haris Rauf lost his cool in a post-match press conference following his team's five-wicket loss to New Zealand in the second T20I. Frustrated by criticism, Rauf claimed that many in Pakistan wait for their team to lose just to criticize their performances. He defended the young players, stating that other teams provide their newcomers with more opportunities and freedom.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's batting woes continued as they struggled to post 135-9 in a rain-shortened 15-over match in Dunedin. Babar Azam (37 off 29) and Fakhar Zaman (22 off 15) were the only notable contributors, while New Zealand’s bowlers, led by Matt Henry (3/27) and Adam Milne (2/20), kept the visitors under pressure.
Meanwhile, New Zealand dominated the rain-affected match in Dunedin, chasing Pakistan's 135-9 in just 13.1 overs. Openers Tim Seifert and Finn Allen launched a brutal six-hit spree, smashing ten sixes between them. Seifert, after playing a maiden over against Shaheen Afridi, exploded with 26 runs off Afridi's second over, finishing with 45 off 22 balls. Allen contributed 38 off 16 before falling. With this victory, New Zealand now leads the five-match series 2-0, leaving Pakistan with an uphill battle to stay in contention. The visitors struggled to contain the Kiwi batters, raising further concerns about their form and approach.
