Why is MS Dhoni playing in the 18th season of IPL?

Harbhajan Singh recently shared an interesting conversation with his former teammate, MS Dhoni, about the latter's incredible fitness and consistency in cricket, especially at the age of 42. Dhoni is set to play his 18th season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025, marking 25 years in cricket since his debut in the Ranji Trophy in January 2000.

Despite his age, Dhoni remains a key player for Chennai Super Kings. Last season, he scored 161 runs with a remarkable strike rate of 220.54, maintaining his sharpness behind the wickets.

Harbhajan, who has shared the dressing room with Dhoni for many years, met him recently and asked about his secret to staying in top form. Dhoni's response was simple yet powerful: "It is hard, but this is the only thing I like doing. I enjoy it. As the clock ticks to 4 or 5 in the evening, I want to go and play. As long as you have that hunger inside, you will do it."

Harbhajan also commented on how difficult it must be for Dhoni to play only in the IPL and not in any other format. However, he acknowledged that Dhoni's extensive practice before the tournament facing numerous deliveries helps him dominate all bowlers.

Harbhajan said, "He is not just surviving, but dominating all bowlers." Dhoni's passion and dedication to cricket continue to inspire both fans and teammates alike.
