China is set to open the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in June, a remarkable engineering achievement that spans two miles across a vast canyon.
The bridge, which is part of a 2200 Crore rupee project, will dramatically reduce travel time from an hour to just one minute. Towering over 200 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower and weighing three times more, this bridge is not only a feat of engineering but also a potential tourist hotspot.
The steel trusses alone weigh about 22,000 metric tonnes- equivalent to three Eiffel Towers- and were installed in just two months.
The bridge will not only improve transportation in the rural area of Guizhou but also draw visitors with its planned living areas, glass walkways, and the world's highest bungee jump.
This structure highlights China's prowess in bridge construction, with the country already home to many of the tallest bridges globally, further connecting rural communities.
