In a major decision, former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has been given a new and important role, he will now serve as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is a big leadership change in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
Shaktikanta Das is a retired IAS officer from the 1980 batch and has had a long and successful career in public service. He served as the Governor of the RBI for six years, helping India through economic challenges, inflation control, and post-pandemic recovery.
His leadership was crucial in managing financial policies during tough times.
Currently, Pramod Kumar Mishra has been working as PM Modi's Principal Secretary since September 11, 2019. Now, with Das taking over, experts believe his financial and administrative experience will help improve governance and decision-making at the top level.
As Principal Secretary, Das will be responsible for advising the Prime Minister on key economic and administrative policies. He will also ensure proper coordination between different government departments and ministries.
His appointment shows the government's trust in experienced officers to handle important responsibilities.
This leadership change is expected to strengthen India's economic and policy-making strategies. With new financial reforms and global partnerships ahead, Das's experience will play a crucial role in shaping India's future.
