Actor Akshay Kumar has urged the British government and King Charles to watch his upcoming film Kesari Chapter 2, hoping it will make them “realise their mistake” regarding the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. At a press conference, Akshay revealed that the film holds deep personal significance, his grandfather witnessed the tragedy, passing down the stories through generations.
In Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay portrays C Sankaran Nair, the lawyer who challenged General Dyer and the British Raj in court after the massacre. “I'm not here asking for an apology,” Akshay said. “Let them watch the film. The truth will speak for itself, and the apology will flow naturally.”
The powerful trailer, released earlier this month, captures the emotional aftermath of the massacre and the courtroom drama that followed. Co-starring Ananya Panday and R Madhavan, the film releases April 18 and aims to bring untold history to light.
