Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a key conspirator in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, is being intensively questioned by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for the second day in a row. Recently extradited from the US, Rana is being held in a high-security cell at the NIA headquarters in New Delhi.
Officials have confirmed that Rana, described as “a religious man,” has been provided a Quran and is seen offering Namaz five times a day. He has also requested pen and paper, which have been granted under strict supervision.
The 64-year-old Canadian national of Pakistani origin is under scrutiny for his close ties with David Headley and suspected links with Lashkar-e-Taiba and the ISI. Investigators are focusing on Rana's interactions prior to the 2008 attacks and believe his responses could reveal deeper aspects of the plot, including possible contacts in Dubai and movements across India days before the strikes.
