Mata Kushmanda is the fourth form of Goddess Durga, worshipped on the fourth day of Navratri. She is believed to be the creator of the universe and is known for her divine power and radiant energy.
Her name comes from three words - Ku (little), Ushma (warmth), and Anda (cosmic egg). A gentle smile from Mata Kushmanda is said to have created the entire universe, making her the Goddess of Cosmic Energy.
Mata Kushmanda resides at the core of the Sun, radiating divine energy. She blesses devotees with health, strength, and prosperity while removing darkness and obstacles.
She is also called Ashtabhuja Devi because she has eight arms, holding sacred items like a Kamandal, Dhanush, Kamal, Amrit Kalash, Jap Mala, Gada, and Chakra. Riding a lion, she symbolizes strength and courage.
Devotees offer red flowers, red chunri, and sweets like malpua and halwa. Her mantra, Om Devi Kushmandayai Namah, is chanted for blessings. Worshipping her brings confidence, success, and prosperity.
