RSS national publicity in-charge Sunil Ambekar stated on Wednesday that "any type of violence is not good for society," referring to the recent communal unrest in Nagpur over demands to remove Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's tomb. Amid mounting tensions, curfew has been imposed in the city, which houses RSS headquarters.
Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, Ambekar dismissed the relevance of Aurangzeb's tomb, stating, "It's not relevant." He also highlighted the upcoming RSS annual executive meeting (March 21-23), where resolutions on Hindu persecution in Bangladesh and RSS's 100-year achievements will be passed.
The RSS also plans year-long celebrations for Abbakka Chowta, a 16th-century queen who resisted Portuguese invasions. As protests continue nationwide, the situation remains volatile. Will RSS's stance ease tensions or further ignite the debate?
