Maharashtra police on Wednesday arrested Fahim Shamim Khan, a Minorities Democratic Party (MDP) leader, for allegedly orchestrating the recent violence in Nagpur. Clashes erupted after a rumor spread that a religious book was burned during right-wing protests against Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's tomb.

Authorities claim Khan's inflammatory speech incited the violence, leading to his arrest and police custody until March 21. An 18-page FIR names him as a prime accused.

Nagpur remains tense but under control, with curfew in place and 2,000 armed personnel patrolling sensitive areas. Police Commissioner Ravinder Singhal assured residents that no further incidents have been reported. However, with political and communal tensions high, will the unrest truly subside?
