Violent clashes erupted in Kathmandu on Friday as pro-monarchy demonstrators set fire to a house and attacked security forces, prompting authorities to impose a curfew. Nepal Police deployed tear gas, water cannons, and even fired blank rounds to control the growing unrest in Tinkune.
Several protesters and security personnel were injured in the chaos, with some receiving treatment at Kantipur Hospital. Chanting slogans like "Raja Aau, Desh Bachau," thousands of royalists demanded the return of Nepal's monarchy, abolished in 2008.
Meanwhile, anti-monarchy groups, backed by major political parties, held counter-rallies in support of the republic. With tensions escalating and both factions growing aggressive, the battle for Nepal's political future is reaching a boiling point. Will the monarchy rise again, or will the republic stand firm?
