Uber has announced a major update for Delhi commuters - Delhi Metro tickets can now be purchased directly via the Uber app.
This integration, powered by the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), enables users to plan routes, buy QR-based metro tickets, and access real-time transit updates all in one place.
This move follows an MoU signed during Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi's India visit in 2024. It marks Uber's first step in adopting India’s digital public infrastructure to enhance urban mobility.
Uber also revealed plans to expand this feature to three more Indian cities in 2025 and introduce B2B logistics through ONDC, allowing businesses to use Uber's delivery network without owning a fleet.
According to Uber's CTO, this collaboration promotes inclusive, sustainable, and connected mobility. ONDC's Vibhor Jain called it a key milestone in unifying fragmented transport and logistics services across India.
