Cleanse Without Overwashing

Washing your face is necessary, but excessive cleansing can strip the skin of its natural moisture, triggering irritation and breakouts. Use a mild, sulfate-free cleanser twice daily—once in the morning and again before bed. If you tend to sweat a lot during the day, rinse your face with water and gently pat it dry instead of scrubbing. 

Hydration is Essential, Don’t Skip Moisturiser

Many believe that oily skin doesn’t require a moisturiser, but skipping it can lead to even more oil production. Choose a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser with ingredients like aloe vera or hyaluronic acid to maintain hydration without clogging pores. 

Pick the Right Sunscreen

While sunscreen is a must-have, heavy and greasy formulas can worsen breakouts. Opt for a gel-based, oil-free sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Ingredients like niacinamide and zinc oxide offer dual benefits—they protect against harmful UV rays while preventing acne flare-ups.

Control Sweat to Prevent Clogged Pores

Sweat lingering on your skin for too long can contribute to breakouts. After physical activity, gently pat your face with a clean towel or blotting paper instead of rubbing. Change out of sweaty clothes promptly and take a quick shower using an antibacterial body wash to prevent body acne.

Avoid Heavy Makeup in the Heat

Thick, oil-based makeup can trap heat and sweat, leading to blocked pores. Instead, opt for breathable, lightweight products such as mineral-based powders or BB creams for a natural look. Always remove makeup before bedtime to keep your skin clear.

Exfoliate Wisely

Sweat and dead skin cells can build up, causing congestion. Exfoliate your skin two to three times a week using a gentle scrub or mild exfoliant containing ingredients like lactic acid or salicylic acid. This helps keep your pores clean without irritating the skin.
