Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has been issued a second police summons over his parody song allegedly mocking Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, despite not naming him directly. The case was filed based on a complaint by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel.
Meanwhile, Opposition leaders have called out the BJP's selective outrage, questioning why the party remained silent on Kamra's direct jokes about PM Modi but reacted strongly to a parody song allegedly mocking Shinde.
Tensions escalated further when Shiv Sena workers vandalized Mumbai's Habitat Comedy Club, where Kamra's show was held. Police arrested 12 Sena members, including functionary Rahul Kanal, for the violence.
Kamra, who requested a week's time to appear before the police, remains defiant, while political tensions in Maharashtra continue to mount over the comedian's sharp political satire.
