Opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Manish Tewari, and Manickram Tagore, staged protests in Parliament, warning that the steep tariffs would cripple India's economy, MSMEs, and agricultural exports. They accused the BJP-led Centre of failing to safeguard India's economic interests and demanded clarity on its strategy.

Rahul Gandhi warned of economic devastation, while Congress MPs raised concerns over deteriorating US-India ties, citing student visa revocations and increasing trade disputes.

With rising political pressure, the Modi government faces demands for immediate negotiations with the US to prevent further economic fallout. However, Modi has yet to issue a public response.
