Delhi's air pollution crisis has been linked to widespread corruption and mismanagement under the AAP government, according to a CAG report presented in the Delhi Assembly. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa accused former CM Arvind Kejriwal of failing to tackle pollution, calling his governance a “scam-filled disaster.”
Sirsa slammed the ₹22 crore smog tower failure and ₹53 crore wasted on the odd-even scheme. The report also revealed 1.08 lakh vehicles received fraudulent PUC certificates, worsening air quality.
BJP claims AAP's failure to enforce pollution norms led to a crumbling DTC bus fleet, forcing citizens onto polluting two-wheelers. The BJP-led government has now taken charge, tabling eight CAG reports to expose alleged corruption.
With Delhi choking in smog, the question remains, was Kejriwal's government truly fighting pollution, or was it part of the problem?
