Narendra Modi, since assuming the office of Prime Minister in 2014, has undertaken extensive international diplomacy, visiting more than 60 countries across continents. His travels highlight India’s evolving foreign policy, aimed at fostering economic partnerships, bolstering security ties, and addressing global challenges like technology collaboration and sustainable energy.
Among the most visited nations are the United States, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates, each reflecting a strategic focus. Modi has visited the U.S. nine times, strengthening ties in defense, trade, and technology. Similarly, his multiple visits to Japan and the UAE underscore shared goals in energy and infrastructure development.
A significant milestone in Modi’s diplomatic tenure was his historic visit to Ukraine in 2024—the first by an Indian Prime Minister. The trip highlighted India’s support for dialogue and peace amid ongoing regional tensions. That same year, Modi’s visits to Brunei and Singapore focused on technology and trade partnerships, while his presence at the G20 Summit in Brazil marked India’s leadership in global economic discussions.
Modi's diplomacy extended to Guyana, a nation not visited by an Indian Prime Minister in over five decades. This outreach emphasized India’s commitment to deepening ties with the Caribbean, pledging aid and technological collaboration.
Through his extensive travels, Modi has positioned India as a proactive global player, enhancing partnerships that resonate across sectors and regions.
