The Indian Army confirmed that it successfully repelled a coordinated offensive launched by the Pakistan Armed Forces along the western border, including the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, on the night of May 8-9, 2025. Under Operation Sindoor, Pakistan executed multiple drone strikes and resorted to heavy ceasefire violations (CFVs) in an attempt to escalate tensions along the frontier.

In an official statement, the Army stated that all drone incursions were effectively neutralized, and a befitting response was delivered against Pakistani CFVs. The Indian forces remain steadfast in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation.

Reaffirming its vigilance, the Army emphasized that all nefarious designs would be met with decisive force. The cross-border aggression marks one of the largest escalations since Operation Sindoor began, following the Pahalgam terror attack. Civilian areas and strategic sites across the LoC were secured with minimal collateral damage.
