A Polish solo traveler, Kasia, recently shared a disturbing video of being stalked by an Indian man during a solo trek in Himachal Pradesh.
The Instagram content creator was walking near her guest house when a man persistently followed her, allegedly demanding selfies despite her repeated refusals. Kasia initially thought he wanted her to click his photo, but it soon became clear he wanted to pose with her.
"I said no, because I didn't feel like stopping for a chat or taking pictures," she wrote on Instagram. However, the man continued to follow her and even shouted at her in Hindi. Feeling unsafe, Kasia began filming the encounter, firmly asking him to stop. The man only backed off once he noticed he was being recorded.
This incident highlights the ongoing safety challenges solo women travelers face in India, even in peaceful destinations like Himachal.
