Dal Pakwaan

A quintessential Sindhi breakfast, Dal Pakwaan features crispy, spiced flatbreads served with a flavorful chana dal and accompanied by sweet and spicy chutneys. VIG Refreshment in Chembur Camp is renowned for serving this dish.

Sindhi Kadhi

Unlike its yogurt-based counterparts, Sindhi Kadhi is a tamarind-infused vegetable curry made with okra, drumsticks, cluster beans, and potatoes. It's traditionally paired with steamed rice and Aloo Tuk (crispy fried potato slices). Sindhful in Khar and So Sindhi in Andheri are popular spots to savor this dish.

Sindhi Mutton

This dish features tender mutton pieces cooked in a rich, spiced gravy made from minced meat. It's typically enjoyed with pav (bread rolls) and is a favorite at Sindhful in Khar.

Mutton Kheema Pattice

A beloved street food, this consists of shallow-fried patties filled with a mixture of mashed potatoes and spiced minced mutton, often served with pav and chutneys. Chembur Camp and Ulhasnagar are known for their sizzling tawa stalls offering this delicacy.

Seyal Chapati/Pav

A creative way to repurpose leftover chapati or pav, this dish involves sautéing them with onions, tomatoes, and spices, resulting in a flavorful, savory treat. It's a home-cooked specialty, often prepared by Sindhi families.

Sew Barfi

A unique dessert combining sev (vermicelli) and mawa (reduced milk), Sew Barfi offers a delightful blend of textures and flavors. Tharu's in Khar and Chandru's in Andheri West and Colaba are renowned for their versions of this sweet.

Ghewar

Distinct from the Rajasthani version, Sindhi Ghewar is a larger, thinner, and crispier sweet, often garnished with dry fruits. Chandru's outlets in Colaba and Andheri are celebrated for their authentic preparation of Ghewar.

Mitho Lolo

A traditional sweetbread made during the Thadri festival, Mitho Lolo is a ghee-laden, cardamom-flavored flatbread that's hard to find in restaurants but is a cherished homemade treat.
