Tahawwur Hussain Rana, one of the alleged masterminds of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, is on the brink of being extradited to India, following a US Supreme Court decision denying his final appeal. Rana, a Pakistani-Canadian businessman and longtime associate of David Coleman Headley, provided crucial logistical support for the attacks through his immigration firm, enabling Headley's surveillance missions.

Currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, Rana's extradition marks a major diplomatic and legal breakthrough for India, which has pursued his return since 2019. Special jail arrangements are underway in Mumbai and Delhi, with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) set to take initial custody.

Officials believe his interrogation could reveal vital information about the ISI’s role and Pakistan's state complicity in the attacks. Despite citing serious health issues to delay extradition, US courts have cleared the path for his return to face justice in India.
