After Operation Sindoor, PM Modi signals zero-tolerance era for terror

In a decisive address in Kanpur on May 30, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a robust three-point doctrine to counter terrorism, directly addressing threats from Pakistan. This announcement follows India's recent military operation, Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The three guiding principles articulated by PM Modi are:

  1. Decisive Retaliation: India will respond to every terrorist attack with a strong and timely military response, determined by the armed forces.

  2. Rejection of Nuclear Blackmail: India will not be intimidated by hollow threats of nuclear weapons and will not base its decisions on such intimidation.

  3. Equal Accountability: There will be no distinction between terrorists and the governments that support them; both will be held equally accountable.

PM Modi emphasized that India's indigenous defense capabilities, including the BrahMos missile, have demonstrated the country's resolve and self-reliance in defense. He stated, "The world witnessed the power of Make in India and its weapon through Operation Sindoor."
